Presentation scan is performed any time between weeks 35 to 40 of pregnancy in order to establish the baby’s position in the womb and prepare for the delivery. Presentation scan will include the Growth scan and assess your baby’s development, measure the head, abdomen and limbs, in particular, plotting it against the growth charts. This helps us estimate your baby’s weight at birth.
We will also look at the position of placenta, the amount of amniotic fluid and will assess baby’s movements.
Presentation scan will examine the baby’s position as the delivery date approaches, in order to check whether the baby might be in a breach position.
This is particularly important when planning your delivery and making appropriate arrangements.
This is an external ultrasound examination, with an ultrasound probe gently gliding over your abdomen. It is entirely safe and comfortable for both you and your baby.
